Anthony Skipper (2007-11-11): We stayed at the campsite on the 25 August 07. And found the whole site to have a deserted air. After the restaurant closed at 9pm, we found no where else and after my wife was refused any food, I had to go in waving the Alan Rogers book to bargain with the manager to give us some snack food from the very basically stocked shop, that is no fridges - but lots and lots of toilet blue!

I had a look around the next morning and found the tennis courts were pretty much out of action with a log helping to tension the wire. The bar near the midge infested lake looked like they had not seen action for a season or two. It came as no surprise that the few other visitors I spoke with were staying just a night.

The Alan Rogers guide that I used referred to the site being in the family for 50 years. I would say that bar the new toilet block - there has been too little investment in the last 15 years.

A bit off the beaten track! A little past it's best.
