Peter Layzell (2010-07-13): My wife and I have just returned from France having spent 10 days at Camping Du Barba.
This is a small site nesting under hills lined by pine trees.
The site is tranquil with a site office which sells bread, wine and postacrds with cheese on order.
The toilets are adequate and clean although the showers tend to follow a strange pattern of hot/cold which bears no obvious relation to the controls!
There is an auberge next door which has fantactic food- It can be expensive so the set meals on Tuesday and Fridays at 18 euros are great in both quality and value.
The nearesr supermarket is at Bruyere ( about 5 miles)
The hosts are realaly great. Agnes runs the site - her English is basic but her smile and personailty if great- Nothing seemns too much trouble. Gilles is ever active with an infectious personality - he seems to know everyone worth knowing and everywhere worth going!
Buy a bottle of his very nice wine and ask him to have a glass - You are promised a very entertaining hour!
This is the sort of site where you intend to stay 2 days then end up staying 10 days and coming back for more next year.
If you don't need the bright lights to have a good holiday then Du Barba is a great place to stay.
